Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, and how to control it — including text messages.

This policy covers the personal information the Monterey Bay Holistic Alliance collects through montereybayholistic.com and how we use it. It does not cover third-party sites we link to, including practitioner websites in our directory.

Information We Collect

When you use a form on this site — the contact form, a free consultation request, a membership application, or the free guide/newsletter sign-up — we collect what you enter: typically your name, email address, phone number and, for members, a mailing address. If you become a paid member, your card payment is processed directly by Stripe; MBHA never sees or stores your full card number.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide to respond to your inquiry, process a membership or donation, schedule a call or orientation, and send the educational content, program updates and reminders that go with the service you signed up for. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for purposes unrelated to why you gave it to us.

Text Message (SMS) Communications

MBHA sends text messages only to numbers provided to us on our own forms — the contact form, the free consultation request, the membership application — where providing a phone number serves as opt-in consent to receive them. Messages are limited to two kinds: reminders about an appointment, call or event you’ve engaged with, and general program updates and announcements. We do not send promotional or marketing texts. Message frequency varies with your own activity — typically no more than 4 messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of membership, donation or any service. Reply STOP at any time to opt out — you’ll get one confirmation message and no further texts. Reply HELP for help, or reach us at mbholistic@gmail.com or (209) 348-3348. We do not sell, rent or share your phone number or SMS opt-in status with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Email Communications

Every email from MBHA includes an unsubscribe link. Transactional email — a membership receipt, a reply to a question you asked — isn’t part of that marketing list and continues regardless, since it’s the direct response to something you initiated.

Sharing With Service Providers

A small number of vendors process data on our behalf so the site and our programs can run: Stripe (membership payments), Google (the member application form and our booking calendar), and Hostinger (web hosting and this form’s email delivery). Each only receives what it needs to do its job, and none may use your information for its own purposes.

Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us, including serving this site over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices

You can ask us to update or delete the information we hold about you, unsubscribe from email at any time via the link in any message, or opt out of text messages by replying STOP — see above. To make any of these requests, write to mbholistic@gmail.com.

Children’s Privacy

MBHA’s services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

If we make a material change to this policy, we’ll update the date below and, for significant changes, note it on this page.
